The deep work that you do in your sketchbook will pave the way to creating larger abstract pieces.
Your watercolour journey will include colour exploration, sketchbook play and abstract layering.
See what happens when colours bleed, blend and drip together.
Get to know your brushes and discover the variety of marks you can make.
Learn how to use hard edges and soft edges within your work.
Layer watercolours to build up depth and complexity.
All videos are bite-sized and designed to provide instruction while encouraging your own personal style to come through.
Class participants will have the opportunity to join the Laura Horn Art Facebook group. You can also use the hashtag #laurahornartclasses when posting on Instagram.
I encourage you to use what supplies you have and approach this class from a playful place. While I love Daniel Smith watercolour paints, I understand that they are a splurge. You can substitute for other paint brands but I do suggest using good quality watercolour paper, it makes a big difference!
Hello, my name is Laura. I am a mixed media artist living and working in Adelaide, South Australia. My art is inspired by the imperfect and ever-changing beauty of nature. With pattern, texture and colour, my experiences are translated into richly layered abstract paintings.
The process is one of playful exploration, mindfulness and self-discovery.
It is my absolute pleasure to share my experiences and help you to nurture and nourish your creativity.
